Last Tuesday was ‘class day’ at The Queen’s Ink with my local Copic instructor, Nancy Sheads of Rowhouse Greetings. On a good month I can take a class with Nancy twice. My friend Susan, of Simple Stampin refers to this as Continuing Education. Which is true, as I always learn a little something, and often have AHA! moments.
Are you familiar with Stampendous’s House Mouse Series? They are darn adorable. I have several of the mini’s. They look kind of intimidating to color. But, they are not! Stampendous even has a coloring chart for them. Click Here For Chart. We did three cards, and I chose to make the mice on each card a different color. We colored them by starting on the outer edge of the fur with a small amount of the darkest shade, then medium and light.
Monica (yes they all have names) was colored with Copics: T1, T3 and T5. My shading was not so smooth on this one, resulting in what looks like a dark ring in the main photo. I also totally screwed up cutting this little girl out. I ran her through my scan n cut, and I wanted to do just the outline, but I did not check it close enough and it cut off a lot of her edges. I should have cut her with a border. But, Live AND Learn. I will know better next time, not every card is perfect and it’s super cute anyways!
This Cutie was done with: E35, E33 and E31. Look at how cool that grasshopper is!
