Good Morning & Happy Hoppin’ Day from Skyway Drive!
Welcome to the Pal’s June Blog Hop. We’re so glad you are here because we made some great projects using “Anything with Wings”. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
When I started thinking about this hop, my mind first went to Butterflies, but it being June my favorite set is now retired…😞. So I started sorting through my sets and AHA! The pig with wings. Totally out of the box and NOT a bird, (which I thought everyone might be doing).
I have loved this set since it first came out. There is just something happy and playful about it. My card is a CASE of multiple samples from several people on Pinterest.
I have not gotten any of the new DSP’s yet so I decided to not add any to this card, since they would be retired. I started with a basic card base made from Whisper White Thick Card Stock, to that I added layer of Flirty Flamingo cut to 5.5 x 4.25 covering the entire card base. Next I took a piece of Whisper White, a blending brush and my Night Of Navy Ink Pad. I blended out the ink creating a cool blue background. Then I splattered it with Shimmer Craft Spray AND thinned out white craft paint. Giving it a sparkly night time effect.
I cut this down to a 2.5 inch strip and added to my card base. I then took two pieces of thick Whisper White cut to 1 x 5.25 and 1.75 x 5.25 inches. On the larger piece I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Placing a piece of fun foam to add dimension and stability to the back of each piece, then attaching them to my card base. I colored up my Piggy with alcohol markers, adding Wink Of Stella to the wings to make them magical. Because really, how can a flying pig not be magical?
I added my cute little piggy with a wobble, so it actually looks like it is flying. Some Basic Rhinestone Jewels added the perfect finishing touch and a little bling.
I hope you enjoyed my Flying Piggy card.
