Fun & Practical gifts!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks here in Annapolis, and the Spring weather has been fabulous!

Some of my Crafty Friends and I were lucky to be able to attend another class with Danielle of Neat & Tangled. This one focused on stenciling.  I admit it is a technique I don’t do often, but really should!  I will blog more about the class later this week. Today I wanted to show you a fun gift I made and packaged for my Friends who took the class with me also for Danielle and guest instructor Cheiron Brandon.  They were super easy to make and even more fun to package up!

Glycerin soap infused loofah, great for messy crafty hands!

These little soaps are really easy to make.  You need glycerin soap, soap dye, some essential oil if you want it scented, a sliced up loofah, large pyrex measuring cup, muffin tin and some hemp twine.

Slice the loofah, I did mine abut 2 inches and got 4 pieces from one loofah.  Tie some hemp around it so you have a hanger. Place in the muffin tin.

Next cut the glycerin into squares and in the pyrex melt in the microwave.  While still hot add the dye and the essential oil, I used Sweet Orange.
Once that is mixed pour over the loofahs. You may need to press the loofahs back down in the pan as they will float a bit.

Then all you do is let them cool and harden!  Fun and easy.

To make my packaging I used My Favorite Things new Treat Bag Topper Die. Fantastic item. I paired it with Mermazing stamp set and Making Waves Die set from Neat & Tangled.

I placed the soaps in the treat bags that coordinate with the topper and sealed them and attached the tag topper with tear tape.
