Pals April Blog Hop……Families First

Welcome to the Pals April Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals’ April  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we love to put our ”Families First”! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Our theme this month is families first. We were asked to showcase items inspired by a Family member or to a Family member. This one was not tough for me at all. I knew exactly which set I would grab.

I used two sets, Magical Mermaid and Playful Backgrounds.

My family, close and extended all love the beach and all things ocean themed.  So a Mermaid card was a no-brainer for me. I especially love the sentiment in this set that say’s “I’ll Never Stop Believing In You”. What a great saying to send to a family member. Whether they are having a hard time, going to school, having a new adventure…..

I started with a thick white card base and added a layer of Shimmery White. Using my Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies I made two more layers. One in Night of Navy and one that I ink blended to look like the ocean. On the ink blended layer I then stamped the open circles from the Playful Background set with Versamark. I heat embossed it with a mixture of silver and clear embossing powder to get that soft shimmery effect. On another piece of Thick White Card Stock I stamped my mermaid. She is colored with a variety of alcohol markers, adding some white highlights with a Gelly Roll pen and some Wink of Stella on her scales. I used one of the smaller dies to cut another piece of Night of Navy and did my sentiment with Versamark and White Emboss Powder.  I layered it all together and added three Basic Rhinestone Jewels for a bit of bling.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 8, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “More Than One Score” projects. Don’t miss the fun!
