The Birthday Project Challenge – ROYGBIV

Happy Monday, from me on Skyway Drive to you❗

My Favorite Things  does a Birthday Card Challenge monthly, called The Birthday Project.  How fun, right?!  This month the theme is ROYGBIV which if you are unfamiliar, are the colors in the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet

Click HERE for information on all of the My Favorite Things Challenges.

This is the first time I am playing along with this challenge. The card was super fun to create. Although the rules say you don’t have to use My Favorite Things products, I did use quite a few. As always a Clickable Shopping List will be added at the bottom of the post.

My girl was cut with the Brother Scan N Cut after it was colored. I find my machine scans things ever better when they are colored. If you are on the fence about one of these, do your self a favor and HOP OFF. Go directly to the supply list and SHOP! you will not regret it.

I covered most of the Rainbow colors AND added an actual Rainbow!

I shaded the Jeans as I normally would. Then did this cool technique with fabric. Actual jean fabric. (When you do this process make sure to do that area first.) You color as normal, then take a small swatch of fabric, (in this case denim) then dampen the fabric with Colorless Blending Solution and press it to the paper for the count of 3 seconds.
VOILA – Denim!

When I was done, the card still seemed a little flat. Even after adding the Dew Drops!
So I brushed Nuvo  Glitter Gloss over the rainbow.
HAHAHA

**You will notice I have two white card stocks listed. I use the Neenah Solar White as my base. Thick and sturdy. The Hammermill I use for coloring with Copic’s as it has a great smooth finish. Another white that is great for Copic’s is Gina K Artist’s Choice 110lb Card Stock.
