Pals’ March Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ March Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because ”Spring has Sprung” – at least on our blog hop if not outside! Our Design Team created beautiful projects to inspire you. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I for one, cannot wait for Spring to be Sprung. I generally enjoy all four seasons but the Winter here on Skyway Drive has been cold and windy. When I saw the theme of this Months Hop I knew The Butterfly Gala Bundle would be the perfect set for me to bring you some Spring.

Are these some Springy cards or what?
Granny Apple Green gives this card it’s bright pop of Spring color. First I stamped those circles on glossy white card stock, then the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it in black. The butterfly was stamped on a separate piece of white and colored in a variety of bright Spring colors. I gave his body some pearls, because WHY NOT? Bending at either side of the center of the body I added some tombow glue just in the center to secure it, leaving the wings free. As a finishing touch I added three basic rhinestone jewels randomly. The effect is a bright, shiny, bubbly Thank You card.
Because I was having SO much fun with this set I decided to make a bonus card!

A monochromatic card with a pop of color says “hey! look at me!” I layered up from my base card with basic black and this fabulous black and white butterfly paper from Botanical Butterfly DSP that I received FREE with the Sale-A-Bration promotion.  I stamped this butterfly pair on a separate sheet of white card stock with memento ink using my Stamparatus. I gave them some nice coral colors then placed it back in my Stamparatus and inked it again using Versamark. I then heat embossed it with black embossing powder. This did two things for me, one is to make the outline darker and shiny the other is to add some texture. A bit of wink of Stella on four sections adds a bit of glimmer. For the large butterfly I also stamped some antennae and attached them from behind. On the smaller butterfly I added a tiny rhinestone. Both butterflies and the sentiment strip are attached with dimensionals. For the sentiment I took basic black, in keeping with my color scheme and stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder then added two tiny rhinestones.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Had a skunk get into it with a Fox last night and sprayed our yard. Then one of the dogs rolled in it! Craziness!

What wonderful coloring on these beauties! I love the touch of color on just one butterfly but the one with the bubble pattern is fun too. Great job as always. Skunky dog?!? Dare I ask?

I love the effect it gave to that so simple yet WOW card! Nothing more to say about the punch and the butterflies – it is as EASY AS THAT…..PUNCH and GO! I do hope that SU comes out with more products like this….

Here is to SPRING and SUNSHINE to both of us in MUDDY MARYLAND!
