This is a glass mat. I work on the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat in my studio and it is my preferred item to work on top of. About six months ago I came across this 12 x 12 one, and had an aha! moment. Perfect for travel. Just big enough to work on and not encroach the person next to you.

Good bright white light is a must for me. Maybe it’s the electricians daughter in me, I don’t know. This light folds down nicely and has two brightness settings. It charges with a USB cord, so no dead battery or plug issues.

A small Sistema container and a shammy to clean your stamps.
12 piece box of watercolor pencils. Ok, honestly I am not sure I have ever used these in a class but you never know! |
Ok, so a tape runner is a no brainer, but this is my favorite brand. Not only is it a nice fit in your hand but it goes an extremely long way.
Occasionally I have a need to trim an item down at class. This Tonic mini guillotine paper trimmer is a nice size to take on the go.
So those are the larger items tucked into my bag. Onto those anally retentive labeled photo boxes!

This box contains some pop dots or dimensionals. Rhinestones and pearls, cause I am a bling girl. There are several pre cut pieces of fun foam, I like a sturdy card. This box also contains a couple envelopes and 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 pieces of thick white card stock. |

The Tools Box. I have three, yes three pairs of scissors! A nuvo spoon for sequins and beads, a small geometry set, both a sand and adhesive eraser, pencil sharpener, a couple of hat pins to unclog stuff, a bone folder, and a pair of tweezers. Eventually I will add a crystal ninja tanto pick up tool. (they have been on backorder) |
Yes! you do need a variety of adhesives. Tombow multiuse, or as we refer to it: green glue. I also have a chisel point and ball point glue pen, Gina K connect glue, glue dots and tear tape. |
This is my Blender Box. I have my Gina K amalgam black ink. You can use it with most mediums and I love it! Add in a mini mister, an aqua painter, blender pen, a pad of sticky notes and nuvo sponges. I keep three in this box, because generally if we are using them in class we do not use more than three colors.
Occasionally in class we use our own blocks. I do find it handy to have a set with me especially if I am using supplies at a friends house.
The pen box! pens, pencils, red and black stampin write markers. Why the red? I always date my cards on the back with this red marker! I also have my trusty white gel pen, and a black one. A good fine tip sharpie and some wink of stella.

An Empty Box?! Yes, an empty box. You need a place to put your completed or partially completed items to get them home.
Since this bag had some great sections and pockets I tucked in a few other items.
My Mini Misti Stamp Positioner. |
A nice package of antibacterial wipes, they are great for hands and working surfaces. We use oxides and distress oxides in class quite a bit, and these keep me and my stuff cleaned up. |
Last but not least some distress glaze and distress resist spray.

Thanks Karen! I kicked the idea around for a while before actually tackling it! You know, like my studio it will keep changing and evolving! Don’t forget, if you see something on the clickable list I get like a penny if you click thru and purchase!😉🤪
This is a BRILLIANT idea for a blog post! I can tell you, when I'm packing it is hard to remember everything. I will be keeping this post to refer to when I go next time! Well done, Jilly!
Thanks! Obviously you can tailor it to your needs like I did for myself. I wanted to get a refrence point out there, especially when people in classes aske me where I got something. Happy stamping!
Lol! It may seem like a lot, but I do actually use most of it at some point.
This is awesome Jill!!! So helpful!!!
