I’m not sure if you guys know that stamping isn’t just stamping an image and coloring it in. You can do so many different things as far as the coloring. There are our Stampin’ Up! markers that coordinate SO nicely with all our products. There are alcohol markers like our Blends and Copics. (I prefer Copics and I will blog about that soon!) There are colored pencils and watercolor pencils. You can use Designer Series paper to fill in sections. You can even use watercolors or these really cool Zig Clear Color real brush markers that I found, you can also watercolor by using a aqua painter and ink pad refills! So, that in mind I made some neat samples for you with different coloring mediums and the same stamp set to show you versatility. Enjoy!

In this version I stamped the image with
Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige

Barely Beige and Barely Blue inks are a light toned dye ink formulation suitable for No-Line coloring techniques with watercolors and solvent based markers. Use Barely Beige for warm tones of coloring (Reds, Yellows, Browns) and Barley Blue for cool tones (Blues and Greens).

The coloring was done with the Zig Clear Color Real Brush watercolor markers.
I purchased mine from Amazon
For this one I stamped the image the same color as the paper, basic gray.
Then I highlighted it with our whisper white watercolor pencil. I did not use the blender pen or aqua painter, but left the pencil untouched.
The pencil set can be found on page 202 or here online.
Here I stamped the image in versamark on shimmery white paper and designer series paper, and embossed it with black stampin’ emboss powder.
Then I cut out the dress and hat section from the image on the DSP and pasted it over the other image!
Voila! Instant no color COLOR!
This one has a little bit of everything! The Umbrella was done the same way as the previous dress was, stamped, embossed and pasted over the second image. The dress was done with an aqua painter and refill ink. While the highlight by the feet was done with a copic marker.
I hope this gives you all a taste of the many ways you can “color” or “embellish” a stamped image!
I do use many items that are “contraband” but the core of my projects are generally Stampin’ Up!
